He applies a Client-Centered theoretical approach to counseling, offering unconditional positive regard for every client, applying theoretical approaches as appropriate, including CBT and Structural Family Therapy. He completed his Masters in Mental Health Counseling and a 1,000-hour internship at The Community Hospice and Palliative Care in Jacksonville, FL as a Grief and Bereavement counselor with more than 450 direct counseling hours. She sets the standard for the staff of The Casey Center to offer love, hope, resiliency and strength to those in need. As the Executive Director, Bonnie leads the Casey Center as we work to serve more people throughout the community. The Grief Support group meets the first and third Tuesday nights of the month from 7-9pm and Wednesday afternoons from 11am-1pm. Many people come to know the Casey Center through our Tuesday night grief support groups. These groups are open to all adults, regardless of their loss. We begin in a large group where those who wish to, introduce themselves and say the name of whom they’re here “for the love of…” We then break into smaller groups based on the type of loss: child, spouse, parent, sibling, or other major loss. Our Crime Victim Advocate facilitates healing in this group through personal story and years of experience working with community health, trauma and victims of crime. Group members benefit from openly discussing their trauma and loss while hearing how others have confronted their suffering and recovered a sense of peace.
